In the Victorian era, the language of flowers was used for the secret expression of feelings when they could not be spoken of openly. In the Eastern tradition, flowers are essential elements of refined simplicity, achieved by revealing the natural beauty of the material.<\/p>\n

Artist Inna Sumina<\/a><\/strong> builds her artistic practice around images of flowers, exploring the influence of color on the viewer\u2019s perception and analyzing her own emotions. Inna\u2019s works are distinguished by the way the flower is regarded, its position within the space of the frame, and by shifts and enlargements of scale. Combining abstract elements with realistic details, Inna leaves room for reflection and transforms the viewer\u2019s impression from the familiar to the special and unique.<\/p>\n

\u201cI invite you into my \u201cinner garden\u201d - my comfortable corner, adorned with flowers, <\/i>a place where paintings become a reflection of the soul\u2019s state. Through the image of the iris, as if <\/i>magnified several times by a close-up effect, I convey various emotions and <\/i>feelings, contemplate the beauty of everyday life, the cyclical nature of life\u2019s events, <\/i>observe the influence of color on perception. I allow the paints to be my co-authors, <\/i>combining dynamic abstract elements with static realistic ones. The value <\/i>of life in the moment, the brightness of each day, the lushness and drama of fading - all of this <\/i>is reflected on my canvases<\/i>\u201d. - Inna Sumina.<\/i><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Inna Sumina

A resident artist of the gallery. She studied at the British Higher School of Art and Design. Her principal subject is flowers as a metaphor for emotion. In her painting practice, she most often works in oil on canvas or paper. \"In my work, I explore the fleeting nature of time. Living in the moment stands in contrast to the pursuit of instant gratification in consumer society. Mindfulness becomes a way to slow down and perceive the beauty of the here and now.
