The Leninsky Market art space\u00a0\u00a0<\/a>(108 Leninsky Prospekt, Building 1, 2nd floor, Moscow) is currently hosting \u201cInterweavings,\u201d an exhibition by Kvartira S artist Ekaterina Kolesnikova.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

Ekaterina shared some of her secrets with us:<\/strong><\/p>\n

On the Studio\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n
\u201cMy favorite place at home is my study. True, it is not an artist\u2019s studio in the traditional\u00a0sense, with paint-splattered walls, canvases and stretchers propped up in every corner,\u00a0jars of technical fluids, books, and all that creative chaos veiled in age-old\u00a0dust! It is a clean, intimate, cozy little haven where the multitude of ideas occupying most of my\u00a0thoughts flows in a slender stream onto paper as sketches and compositional studies, only\u00a0a small fraction of which earn the right to be brought to life on canvas. All the agonies of the creative process\u00a0take place at this stage.<\/div>\n

As I work, I do not leap around the easel covered \u2018up to my elbows\u2019 in paint or\u00a0rework a piece ten times over, because by the time I begin executing the idea in its final format, I am already\u00a0completely certain of how everything should be.\u201d<\/div>\n

About the Works in the Exhibition<\/h3>\n

The \u201cColors of Montenegro\u201d series -\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

a homage to a beautiful place.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Bay of Kotor, the largest bay in the Adriatic Sea, encircled by a belt of mountains like a garland. Vivid, rainbow colors burst forth from a frozen stone moment of history.<\/p>\n

The \u201cBlack Mountains\u201d take on color.<\/p>\n

\u201cMimosa Festival\u201d<\/b> A vivid celebration dedicated to the first blossoming, held in the city of Herceg-Novi in Montenegro. Yellow, fluffy little suns upon the blue carpet of sky, sea, and mountains. The tender breath of spring, its first rays.<\/p>\n

The \u201cGreen\u201d triptych.<\/b><\/p>\n

The deep, life-giving color of water, foliage, and moss underscores the particular beauty of this place.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>\u201cWhere To Today?\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The harbor in the city of Budva, sailing boats and yachts moored along these shores.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Morning is my favorite time of day. As I am an \u201cearly bird,\u201d my morning begins early. With a contemplative gaze I watch everything around me awaken, true serenity painted in fresh turquoise, pink, and tender yellow.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A weightless, translucent, yet already palpable joy of a new journey.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
