Kvartira S Gallery announces an Open Call for the group exhibition “The Inner and the Outer” in the exhibition halls of the ARTPLAY Design Center (Kurskaya metro, 10 N. Syromyatnicheskaya Street) in July 2021.
Applications are accepted until June 18 at expo@kvartiras.com.
The planned duration of the exhibition is July 1–30, 2021. The number of participants is limited.

The outer and the inner are philosophical categories inherent in absolutely any object, process, or phenomenon in this world. We come to know the outer through our senses, and the inner through mental activity, theoretical inquiry, and the drawing of logical connections from the outer to the inner.
The outer is always bound to the inner, and vice versa.
As part of this open call, we invite artists to undertake their own artistic inquiry into the inner and the outer — or, perhaps, into the inner alone, or the outer alone — in relation to any object, phenomenon, or process. Works on political themes and nudes will not be accepted.
The application must include:
- CV (the artist’s portfolio and a short biography as separate Word files);
- high-quality photographs of 1–3 completed works, with dimensions, materials, year of creation, and price indicated in a separate Word file;
- a photograph of the artist;
- a short motivation letter explaining why you consider these works the best.
Painting, works on paper (framed), installations, and art photography are accepted — from 1 to 3 works per artist. Selection is made by the curator and the gallery staff.
Participation requires a membership fee: 6,000 rubles for gallery residents, 10,000 rubles for new participants. The membership fee includes: installation, PR, media announcements, catering, and exhibition tours. A contract is concluded with each participant.
