Getting to Know the Artist

Victoria Rós

Gallery artist Victoria Rós, a student at the Moscow Architectural Institute (MArchI) in the Department of Reconstruction. She has been painting since childhood and studied academic drawing. She completed a course in "tromp-l'œil" (painting that recreates the appearance of materials such as marble, glass, and wood on canvas) at the Academy of Arts in Bandol (France), in the studio of Geneviève Canto.

Victoria tells the gallery "Kvartira S" about herself, her interests, and her work. Get to know her!

My favorite technique is acrylic.
My favorite form is the triangle.
I cannot work... when nothing new is happening in my life.
I am inspired by people, stories, cinema, contemporary artists — anything at all!

In my paintings ... you can see yourself.
My studio is  my room and balcony.
My tools are brushes and a palette knife.
If I were not an artist, I would be... an architect.

From June 13 to 30, the design center Artplay (Moscow) will host Victoria Rós's solo exhibition.

The exhibition "Reflection" is my first solo show. It means a great deal to me — I see it as a starting point into the wider world of art, yet I understand that it may also happen that the exhibition will not affect my career.
What matters most to me is that people leave the exhibition with new emotions and sensations, positive or negative — it does not matter, as long as they do not remain indifferent.
