About the artists:
KATERINA PEPUSHOY
The principal theme of Katerina Pepushoy’s paintings is the urban landscape, industrial motifs.
She works in various artistic movements, techniques, and genres. She produces paintings, graphic works, and compositional solutions in contemporary materials. In painting she favors large-format works. Katerina is a member of the Moscow Union of Artists and the Creative Union of Artists of Russia, and a board member of the Moscow Branch of the Creative Union of Artists of Russia. She has taken part in more than one hundred exhibitions in Russia and abroad.
Her works have been presented at the diplomatic missions of the Russian Federation in London, Berlin, and Prague; they have been exhibited in Russia, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, the Czech Republic, Finland, Serbia, and China, and are held in private collections in Russia, Serbia, the United States, and Canada. Katerina has been awarded a diploma of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation “For Creative Activity and High Professional Achievement in Art,” a letter of thanks from the Representative Office of the Federal Agency Rossotrudnichestvo in the Federal Republic of Germany, the Russian House of Science and Culture in Berlin, and a silver medal of the Creative Union of Artists of Russia “For Contribution to National Fine Art.” She is a laureate of scholarships of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
The artist Oksana Baronina lives and works in Moscow. She graduated from TOGU and DVFU, and from the A. N. Kosygin Russian State University. She trained in Nikolai Alekseev’s workshop “Sreda Obucheniya.” She is a member of the Professional Union of Artists. She has taken part in many professional group exhibitions.
Oksana Baronina’s paintings seem to recall the presence, in this sorrowful world, of a shared harmony, of a rational order of being according to the original design. The narrative motifs of the works are perceived not as everyday reality - cascades, whirlpools of fish - but as emblematic visions that hold the viewer spellbound. Reflections on underwater depths and great journeys coexist in harmony with the urge to “ground” these thoughts a little, by trying to fit the human figure to the boundless expanses of the sea.
TATYANA PAVLOVA
The artist Tatyana Pavlova was born and lives in the city of Cheboksary. She graduated from the Faculty of Art and Graphics at the I. Ya. Yakovlev Chuvash State Pedagogical University, specializing in “Easel Painting.”
She is a finalist of the festival “Time, Forward” (Moscow). She has taken part in dozens of Russian and international exhibitions and projects. She took first place in the international painting competition Golden time talent.
Tatyana Pavlova’s work is permeated with nostalgia for the sea, the sky, travel, and harmony. The artist precisely conveys the atmosphere of light and air and the elemental forces of nature, and uses detailing for the realism of the scene, yet she does not strive for idealization: in her landscapes there is a place for dangerous cliffs, turbulent waves, and a stormy sky.
