Art Residency in France 2023–2026

A new round of applications for the art residency in France begins

on March 1, 2026!

In early 2023, together with the French art hotel La Farandole****, we launched an open call for artists to take part in an art residency in the south of France. Over the course of three years, 12 people have stayed at the art residency. From March through November 2025, we are continuing the competition and reviewing your applications!

Here is a brief summary of the past years:

  • During 2023, the residency welcomed six artists: Ekaterina Romanova, Vera Kulikova, Niso Atakhanova, Alina Khramova, Anton Totibadze, and Sasha Pasternak. Each participant spent between two and five weeks at the residency.
  • As part of the project, the participants created many works, including paintings and graphic art, some of which entered the art hotel’s collection, while others remained available for sale at Kvartira S Gallery.  Request the catalogue of available works at info@kvartiras.com.
  • The works were presented in the hotel’s exhibition spaces, and in the autumn an exhibition by Anton Totibadze and Sasha Pasternak, “Nouveau Souffle”, was held.
  • During 2024, the residency welcomed three artists: Dasha Rybina and Alexander Votsmush (who stayed for two sessions) and Sasha Sokolova. Dasha Rybina and Alexander Votsmush created many works, which came together in the exhibition “Vacances D’été / Summer Holidays.”
  • Alexander Votsmush held several masterclasses.  Dasha Rybina painted a mural on a wall in one of the hotel’s halls.
  • In addition, the residents visited several French exhibitions and art fairs, explored the region’s historic sites and neighbouring towns, and met and spoke with European colleagues.
  • During 2025, the residency welcomed four artists: Ivan and Sasha Afonsky.
