Catcher of Feelings

Elena Lyapina's paintings explore inner human states, spontaneously expressed through a variety of techniques. Her artistic practice focuses on consciousness and the very source of the creative process. After all, inspiration sometimes springs from the most unexpected feelings and states of mind. In her works, Elena Lyapina seeks to embody this idea visually, creating abstract images that evoke different emotions and memories while leaving room for interpretation. Each painting is a combination of blurred colors and forms that may recall something familiar yet remain not entirely discernible.

Through her use of lines, patches of color, and layers of paint, Elena conveys the complexity of the process of “becoming aware.” The paintings are not precise depictions of any particular moment or event, but rather abstract reflections of a state of consciousness engaged in an attempt to understand something important, accept something new, or recall something lost.
