Alexander Votsmush

Artist. Born in Omsk and raised in Sevastopol. He found his vocation in watercolour and is now regarded as one of the most distinctive and compelling masters of the medium. Votsmush’s works have been exhibited in Russia and abroad, including as part of Sotheby’s programme. He travels extensively, teaches watercolour, plays music, makes films, and gathers impressions that become the foundation of his art. A master of watercolour known as the “maestro of transparency” and “a man who can see through paint.”
