Ekaterina Zhivetina grew up in a creative family and immersed herself in easel painting in her father’s studio more than ten years ago, later becoming fascinated with acrylics and combining them with spray paint. In 2016, she mastered the art of prop making at the Moscow Art and Production Combine. Ultimately, however, she devoted herself entirely to painting, graffiti, and installations. Abstraction is one of her favorite genres.

The artist works in mixed media, using acrylics and spray paint.

A sense of inner independence is the artist’s principal source of hope. It was the year 2020 that helped her grasp the value of life, the importance of following her own path, and of not depending on the opinions of others.

“This year made me understand that if you feel a keen desire to do something, you must do it at once. Put it off until later? But tomorrow may never come,” Ekaterina believes.

The artist’s works speak of will and resolve, and also of concentration, which, in her view, is a means of sustaining hope and a sense of inner independence.
