Yulia Cherekaeva came to painting through her work as a psychologist and art therapist. The artist’s central theme is the inner world of the human being. Through the language of abstract painting, she tells metaphorical stories that resonate with the most subtle vibrations of the viewer’s soul.
The artist’s primary aim is to remind people that they already possess all the resources they need to improve their lives; they need only look within themselves.
“In the spring of 2020, I saw the entire world and the future solely in dark colours. My former dreams and hopes began to seem meaningless and naïve. The world appeared cruel and unstable. I had only one wish: for everything to return to the way it had been,” says the artist. For a long time, she searched for support in the outside world, only to find it, of course, within herself. The works presented in the project are all connected, in one way or another, with the search for inner stability.
Working on the paintings “Traps of the Mind” and “A Fair Wind” was a search for the keys to accessing my own subconscious, and “as soon as I found and understood them, the world began to regain its stability. New hopes, plans, and dreams emerged. I caught my fair wind,” says Yulia Cherekaeva.
