Galina graduated from an art school with a specialization in Fine Art and studied at the Moscow State University of Design and Technology. Although the artist’s primary field is design, she works across a variety of media and is continually exploring new creative directions, with a preference for Constructivism and decorative painting in contemporary art. Galina has participated in numerous exhibitions throughout Russia.
The works presented in the online exhibition respond to the vivid, vibrant life before the pandemic and express the hope that everything will soon return to normal. The works centre on the image of a person inhabiting different roles in life, in contrast to the uniform image of the “masked” figure. Their principal means of expression is colour, reflecting the many facets of life.
“For me, hope in this situation is an aid in overcoming the obstacles that have intensified because of the pandemic, yet the degree of hope remains unchanged from what it was before the pandemic,” says Galina Snagustenko.
