The works of the graphic series “Venetian Collage of Memory” are devoted to past journeys, unrealized projects, a present point of silence, and the hope of a soon reunion. Venice has known times of abundance and of hardship, yet it is in our own day that the city finds itself in a strangely vulnerable position.
“The hope of returning to this city is banal, and yet so personal!” – says the artist.
Maria invites the viewer to look at the work “Dedication to Venice” as one looked into a kaleidoscope in childhood: in a circle, turning it clockwise. In the second work, a boat sailing across the sky becomes a symbol of hope for renewal.
