Anastasia Grin is a young, promising artist who received her art education at the Rostov Art College named after M.B. Grekov. Her diploma work, “Altar Section of the Church of the Great Martyr Catherine,” became part of a functioning altar in the Rostov region. While studying at the college, she became a laureate of the All-Russian competition “Young Talents of Russia” and a scholarship recipient of the Governor of the Rostov Region.
In 2018 Anastasia decided to continue her studies at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts named after I.E. Repin, in the Faculty of Painting. During this period, questions of social inequality, salvation, and memory came to prevail in her work. Engaging with these themes implies not only an analysis of global world events, but also an analysis of the fate of the “little” person. At present Anastasia continues her education in St. Petersburg and works as an independent artist.
The painting “Vse my — lyudi” tells a story of the power to give hope—a hope capable of giving a person the strength to carry on living. Hope fills the world with vibrant colours, and anyone who discovers the artist within and takes their destiny into their own hands can paint an encounter with a happy future, not only for themselves but also for those around them.
“My nashim proshlym dorozhim” is a portrait of an era embodied by a little girl. It draws on painful childhood memories in which hope for a brighter future dissolves the everyday and, through art, weaves the individual into history.
