Gallery "Kvartira S" presents  the 6th Russian–French art project  «Art de vivre».

What is the art of living? It is the ability to delight in every day and to see beauty in all that surrounds us. It is the capacity to take pride in one’s home and to love one’s nature and climate. It is the desire to savor fine food, good wine, and the company of those around us. It is attention to everything born of a wave of inspiration: cinema, music, painting, sculpture, recipes…

What is the art of living in the French way? This is the question Russian artists will answer during a creative journey through Provence. In a short time, the artists of Gallery «Kvartira S» will create a new exhibition of paintings on the theme «The Art of Living». The culmination of the two-week plein-air sessions will, by tradition, be a ceremonial vernissage at the hotel La Farandole, where the full series of works by the Russian artists will be presented, along with paintings by an honorary guest from France.

Participating artists:

Anastasia Zakharova (Russia)

Artist and designer working in graphic techniques. She graduated from Moscow State Pedagogical University, the British Higher School of Art and Design (Moscow), and a Workshop for creative entrepreneurs at the British Council in Russia.

Solo exhibitions: «A Little Country» (2011); «Another Planet» (2018) — some works from this series were acquired by the Embassy of Iceland in the Russian Federation. Participant in Russian and international exhibitions. Works are held in private collections in Russia, Germany, Italy, and the USA.

Igor Vasilich (Russia)

Artist Igor Vasilich represents a new wave of contemporary masters working in the style of expressive impressionism. He graduated from the A. N. Kosygin Moscow State Technical University. He has been painting for more than 30 years; in addition to canvases, he creates frescoes and mural paintings, the largest of which covers 120 sq. m. He teaches painting to children and adults.

The artist’s works are held in private collections in Russia, England, the USA, Italy, Latvia, and Japan. In 2018 he held a solo exhibition in Moscow.

Yann Rebek (France)

Figurative and abstract artist. For ten years he headed the Tourism Board of the town of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence and in 2004 organized a tour route through the places that Vincent van Gogh captured in his paintings.

In October 2010 he held an exhibition in Guangzhou (China), where Chinese artists and the media duly recognized him, calling him a «French neo-impressionist». Since then his paintings have been shown continuously not only in a dozen French galleries, in the USA, Australia, and New Caledonia, but also in China, including the largest Asian art fairs. In 2017 his works were exhibited in Singapore and Indonesia.

Yann Rebek became the only Western artist honored with membership in the Sichuan Academy of Artists and the Lingnan National Academy, China.
