At Hostellerie La Farandole in Sanary, France, we present Meryl’s solo exhibition, “Escape to Provence,” from 18 August to 22 October 2023.
Meryl’s joyful, colorful works celebrate the beauty of the Mediterranean coast and Provence. Bathed in sunlight beneath an azure sky, this land has long inspired artists from around the world. Each of Meryl’s paintings can be likened to a story, or even a poem rich in evocative epithets: seashores in shades of blue, hills alive with contrasts of red ochre and green. This is precisely what we usually wish to bring home “in our luggage” from a holiday and remember on cold winter evenings.
“As a colorist, I present vibrant works depicting beautiful moments and fragments of life, inviting you to ‘escape’ into this joy and optimism because our world is too often stern and cruel.”
MERYL
Meryl works in a variety of visual media. In addition to painting, she creates collages and practices art photography. Most of Meryl’s subjects are devoted to nature.
She has participated in numerous exhibitions, including several solo shows (Salon de printemps Société Artistique de l’Ouest, Parcours des créateurs de Trentemoult à Rezé, Salon d’été Galerie Grand Val à Orvault, among others).
