The title of Ekaterina Lebedeva’s new exhibition, “Vlyublena,” reflects the deep, sincere emotions that permeate her collection of works. The artist experiences each painting deeply and channels it through herself, immersing herself completely in the creative process.

Created with heavy impasto strokes in the style of expressive abstraction, the monumental, richly textured canvases resemble sculptures in their relief-like quality.

The uniquely formulated paints, developed by the artist herself, take several years to dry, acquiring increasingly delicate and refined hues with each passing year.

The exhibition is being held at the GIORGETTI luxury furniture showroom.

Ekaterina was born and raised in a Moscow family. She has participated in international and Russian exhibitions. In 2017, she held two solo exhibitions. She completed a course in “trompe-l'œil” (painting that recreates the appearance of materials such as marble, glass, and wood on canvas) at the Academy of Arts in Bandol, France, in Geneviève Canto’s studio.

Ekaterina’s paintings are used to create prints for designer clothing. In 2017, a signature collection of scarves featuring the paintings “Zhar tvorchestva” was released.

The artist describes her current creative state as follows: “Not to be afraid of the new, not to be afraid of experimentation, not to be afraid of letting paint unfold across one’s own canvas. And at the same time, its very opposite—meticulous precision. The precision of every brushstroke, the precision of every movement.”
