Even if you had never felt any affection for Moscow before, you would surely have fallen in love with it after visiting artist Daria Vorobyova’s solo exhibition, “Beloved City,” at the Curations Limited vintage furniture showroom.
Moscow’s inviting streets, sunlit boulevards and secluded lanes. Prechistenka, Pyatnitskaya, Petrovka, Baumanskaya, Zamoskvorechye... Vibrant, expressive, filled with a distinctive atmosphere and genuine warmth, Daria’s paintings blended beautifully into the showroom’s original Provençal and vintage interior.
The exhibition featured the artist’s new works.
I was born in Moscow in 1988, and from an early age I felt drawn to drawing and art.
For me, creativity is the absolute expression of my inner self and of my impressions of the world that surrounds me every day. I work in mixed media. It is not merely a trend in art, but also an opportunity to transcend boundaries, experiment and convey colour, form and mood as fully as possible in each new painting. By combining several different techniques, either simultaneously or in succession, I create the conditions for complete artistic freedom: I blend watercolour with oils, “seasoned” with sanguine, or, conversely, make a quick sketch of “that very moment” using pen and acrylic. Mixed media allows me to avoid a rigid sequence and give my emotions absolute freedom!
