Ekaterina Lebedeva is a young Moscow artist. Ekaterina on her current state of creativity:
«Not to fear the new, not to fear experiment, not to fear the unfolding of paint on one’s own canvas. And at the same time — the opposite: meticulous precision. The precision of every brushstroke, the precision of every movement».
From early childhood Ekaterina has painted vivid, one might say emotional, "voluminous" pictures, as if created in a single breath.
In her works she moves away from clear, concrete forms in pursuit of expression, of conveying her inner state. The artist’s work is characterized by a saturated palette that heightens generalized forms.
In Ekaterina’s works refined color solutions combine with complex, often multilayered application techniques and active experiments with material. The artist builds her painterly compositions placing full trust in intuition and imagination.
Official presentation of the exhibition
The exhibition presentation took place on Saturday, 26 August. Visitors were welcomed by a meeting with the artist and a celebration among the paintings: champagne, a show chef, and contests for the guests.
