Once every season, the Moscow contemporary art gallery Kvartira S brings together dear friends who share a love of art, vibrant leisure and good music for its traditional family vernissage. The theme of this summer celebration will be Moscow Jazz—the rhythm of our beloved city in summer: light, lively and filled with creativity.
As tradition dictates, the centrepiece of the programme will be a major exhibition of paintings and sculptures by artists of the Kvartira S gallery. Curator: Alexandra Panchenko, art historian, member of the Creative Union of Professional Artists of Russia and arts journalist.
Guests at the vernissage will also be able to take part in masterclasses, watch a performance, enjoy a jazz concert and, of course, admire the breathtaking view of the capital. The event will be held at the Assambleya restaurant on the 14th floor of the President Hotel, which offers a picturesque panorama of the city centre.

Programme:
12:00–20:00 — major vernissage of paintings and sculptures
13:00–15:00 — painting masterclass by Rembrandt brand ambassador and gallery artist Sasha Sokolova
16:00–17:00 — lecture by art historian and member of the Creative Union of Professional Artists of Russia Alexandra Panchenko

Participants of the vernissage programme:
"In their works, the gallery's artists explore and develop a musical sense of form and color. Each artist, employing individual technical methods, creates their own harmony of music, color, form, and beauty, which together compose an unforgettable atmosphere."
Curator of the exhibition "Moscow Jazz" — Alexandra Panchenko, art historian, member of the Creative Union of Professional Artists of Russia, art journalist.
On June 30 at 4:00 p.m., guests of the "Moscow Jazz" vernissage attended a lecture by the curator on the theme “Performance: Idea and Embodiment”. We discussed what this direction in art represents, the premises of its emergence, its prominent figures, and its most memorable realizations.
On Sunday, June 30, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., as part of the vernissage, anyone who wished could try their hand at being an artist. The oil painting master class "My Moscow" was led by Rembrandt brand ambassador, artist awarded scholarships from the Spivakov Foundation and Young Talents, Sasha Sokolova.
The paintings created during the session took as their subject iconic and beloved Moscow landscapes.
All materials are provided free of charge.

At 6:40 p.m., guests of the vernissage were treated to a Performance of Life. Quarter past eight (excerpt)

How does space — and the people within it — change the moment the clock hands reach 8:15 in the evening? We ask ourselves the same question again and again, and await that instant with great trepidation and fear. We hear how the city and the people in it are transformed. We feel the heat that gradually envelops us from head to toe. The closer the big hand of the clock approaches the number 15, the more thrilling the moment becomes...
8:15 — we hear the footsteps of the city; it stands at our door, rustling the pages of the evening press. If we do not open — we will never know what they write...
