On June 2 from 12:00 to 21:00, the gallery "Kvartira S" held, as is its tradition, a large seasonal vernissage presenting new names and the most striking works of contemporary artists.
The festive venue was IVanGogh, a restaurant and art space in the very heart of the capital. The theme of the summer group exhibition — "The Wishing Tree" — was not chosen by chance: on this day the gallery "Kvartira S" will celebrate its birthday. Guests were treated to a rich program prepared by the organizers: a lecture by an art historian, artists’ studies, family art lessons, a gastronomic show, and a guided tour of the sixty-painting exhibition led by gallery representatives.

Dear friends!
Hosting major seasonal exhibition openings has already become a tradition for us. But the opening of "The Wishing Tree" on June 2 will be truly special! Not only will we introduce you to the work of contemporary artists, but we will also celebrate the birthday of the Kvartira S Gallery together with you.
Over the past two years, we have held 40 exhibitions and five international projects, and our collection now features one hundred of the finest artists and one thousand paintings. We thank you—our visitors, friends, and partners—for the joy of living and working in the world of art.
We look forward to welcoming you to our celebration at the IVanGogh restaurant!
THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING!
Olesya Sudzhan,
Director of the Kvartira S Gallery

Participants in the opening programme:
At 3:00 p.m., we invite children and adults to a watercolour workshop led by gallery artist Anastasia Zakharova.
Anastasia is an artist and designer who works in graphic media—ink, watercolour, pastel, and mixed media. She graduated from the Faculty of Art and Graphic Design at Moscow State Pedagogical University, Department of Drawing, and from the British Higher School of Art and Design in Moscow. She also completed a workshop for creative entrepreneurs at the British Council in Russia. She has worked as a glass artist and stained-glass designer. In 2011, her first solo exhibition of graphic works, dedicated to childhood, "Little Country," was held. In 2018, she presented "Another Planet," a solo exhibition of watercolours inspired by Iceland. She has participated in exhibitions in Russia and abroad. Her works are held in private collections in Russia, Germany, Italy, and the United States.
At 4:00 p.m., we invite our guests to paint T-shirts together with artists Anya and Yana Karpik.
All materials will be provided free of charge. To reserve a place at the workshop, email info@kvartiras.com. Places are limited.
At 5:00 p.m., art historian, cultural commentator, and blogger Alexandra P. will give a public talk titled "Contemporary Art: Brilliant and Incomprehensible" in the restaurant’s screening room.
Contemporary art intrigues and surprises us, for it is far from easy to understand. Not to mention how difficult it can be to enjoy, especially for an uninitiated viewer. And yet we still want to understand it, don’t we? We look forward to seeing you at the lecture!

At 7:00 p.m., in celebration of the gallery’s birthday, guests will be treated to an enormous cake created by show chef Arseny Matveenko! But that is not all... There will be surprises!
At 9:00 p.m., all guests will be treated to flair bartending by the founder of "Moscow Bar Catering", bartender Aslan Apazhev!
