On Saturday, September 10, Moscow will celebrate City Day. Kvartira S Gallery invites you to spend it among works of contemporary art and in the company of interesting people. Three of the Gallery’s exhibitions are on view at the Artplay Design Center.

Exhibition of paintings by Daria Vorobieva “Favorite City”

On City Day, for all visitors to the exhibition, Kvartira S Gallery is hosting a celebration during which you can hear an engaging talk by art historian and guide Anastasia Chernyshova on the theme “Moscow with a twist—unusual buildings and monuments of the capital,” and raise a glass of chilled champagne to the prosperity of your favorite city.

Moscow’s history abounds in legends about city residents famed for their eccentric deeds. Some of them had the means to build their homes according to their whims and peculiarities. Our story is devoted to these architectural curiosities of the capital.
Unusual architectural structures can reveal as much about the city’s residents and its history as historical documents and museum exhibitions. After hearing our story, you will be able to pass for a true connoisseur of Moscow’s houses and streets, astonishing others with your knowledge of where to find the Egg House, the House under the Wineglass, the monument to Venichka Yerofeyev from the work Moscow-Petushki, the monument to a striptease dancer, the Pagoda House, and the house whose owner was openly called a “fool” after its construction was completed.

“Squirrel Johan Among Us” Exhibition

A unique workshop by the artist Klazki, “Everyone Has Their Own Johan.”
If you would like to try creating your own interior character, join us on September 10 at 1:00 p.m. for a free interactive workshop. Paints are provided by Manders.
