As a result of the Open Call held in the spring of 2025, Kvartira S Gallery, together with the ARTPLAY Design Center, opens the exhibition “Interweavings of Life.”
Every human life is a complex fabric woven from countless threads: ancestral ties, gestures, words, things, places, events that were before us, with us, and within us. We inherit and continue, remember and forget, repeat and transform. This exhibition is about the connections that define us, even if we do not realize it, about the fact that the present and a possible future are inseparable.

The exhibition “Interweavings of Life” presents works by Russian and international artists who, in their pieces, have depicted what they associate with connections: cultural, interpersonal, familial, emotional, and psychological. The diversity of subjects and materials will help you look at ordinary things and notions from another angle, and see how certain events are bound to one another.
Maria Shushpanova: “We are all, and everything around us is, threads in a single fabric, and therefore interconnected. Even if one thread vanishes, something remains that holds everything else together. Threads bind, interweave, and break, yet the connection endures, no matter how far you may be from another person or place.”

As part of the exhibition “Interweavings of Life,” the exhibition space will be adorned with compositions by ikebana masters of the Sogetsu school: Ameagaru Project will present the work “The Keepers” - a lineage history of three generations will show how carefully cultural heritage is preserved in art. Authors: Zoya Kretova, Elena Suvorova, Elena Sizova and Alexandra Zhukova. Ikebana master Lyudmila Kotelnikova will show the composition “The Coquette,” in which “two passions have woven themselves into a single organism - ikebana and kumihimo.” Ikebana master Lena Solovieva will present a work in which the finest of what has passed organically joins what is blooming today, now, flowing into it as a wave of information and energy.
